Re: Printing... to CSV
CSV export works well for me, with two exceptions: 1. Diacritical marks (ñ, ö, é, etc.) are exporting as strings of 2 other characters. For example, Mötley Crüe exports as "M√∂tley Cr√ºe". 2. Quotation marks in artist names move around. For example, "Weird" Al Yankovic becomes Weird" Al Yankovic" . ...

Re: Smoother playback of full-motion video
have you turned on "use coregraphics"? it won't get "smooth as glass" but it should improve playback performance. Turned it on now and do see a performance improvement, thanks. Scaling is smoother, too. i will be rewriting the whole quicktime engine using QTKit before 1.0 ships, with that you can e...

Smoother playback of full-motion video
First, great work on kJams, Dave! I'm grateful for a Mac-based karaoke solution. I've encoded a few of my own full-motion, full resolution karaoke videos from laserdisc for use in kJams. Problem is, the video playback is pretty choppy, even when the rest of the interface is idle. Playback in QuickTi...

Re: Printing... to CSV
This feature would help me a lot right now. I renamed my music files "Artist - Title - Album-Track" using kJams, then suffered a hard disc crash and lost them. I restored the files from a previous backup, but kJams can't find them because they're simply named "AlbumTrack." The artist and title infor...

Wanted: LaserDisc Karaoke Videos in QT, AVI or VCD Format
Anybody seen Pioneer LaserKaraoke videos in QT, AVI or VCD format? My local karaoke bar has a comprehensive laserdisc library they'd like to convert for computer playback, but I'm wondering if it's already been done.
Except when you *want* to, at which time you'll press Shift to temporarily hear it again.panicBoy wrote:OR, you can go to your System Prefs, under Hardware -> Sound, and uncheck "Play feedback when volume is changed."
That way, you'll never have to deal with it again.
Those Apple people are so clever.

Re: thanks for the pointer!
That's great, KJamp looks like a pretty decent program! I think the CAVS converter will also work with SuperCDG discs, tho I'd like confirmation on that. Nope: The songs on SuperCDG discs are packed away by the dozens into a few .CAB files. You have to unarchive them into ordinary .MCG and .MP3 fil...

Use your CAVS library with kJams! New instructions/tools
Dave's added support for CAVS meta data (which is stored in 'list.txt' files) to kJams. To use a CAVS library, just convert the MCGs to CDGs, then Add To Library; kJams reads the text file and tags all your songs! With Dave's blessing, I've added a new CAVS Meta Data Wiki page which details the conv...

"Choose Music Location" Cancel button doesn't work
Mistakenly clicked Preferences -> Advanced -> kJams Music Folder Location: "Change." I tried to back out, but each time I clicked "Cancel" the dialogue just reappeared. I was only able to exit by choosing the existing kJams Music folder.

Re: interesting
is this text file thing a standard of some kind? Yes, it's how those standalone CAVS SCDG units expect files to be arranged on any hard drive you connect to them. are you sure the tags did not get into the MP3 files? Yes, I'm sure. None of the MP3s contain any meta data. if it is a standard then i'...

Importing files from CAVS hard drive-based system
I'm prepping some files that originated on a CAVS hard-drive based system for use with kJams. I've done the necessary .MCG -> .CDG file conversion; now I'm just wondering how I can get kJams to automatically assign the proper artist, title, disc, and track information to each of the incoming songs. ...

Re: :)
If the differences were publicly available then I would be able to support the formats. They are proprietary formats hence their contents is hidden and not documented. So, the differences are as yet unknown? I see...or, don't see, as the case may be. I'm in the midst of converting 42,000 or ...
