CDG to QT conversion

Post by espinner »

Dave;
When I export to QT the Tasks window shows everything moving along and converting to QT. The .mov icon is on the desktop until the conversion is complete and then it disappears. Any ideas as to what is happening. No error messages just the missing file.
Thanks

need more info

Post by dave »

When ever you post a question about unexpected behavior, I really need to know what version of the program you have. In the finder, get info on the file. As of today, the version should be "1.0d41r19". If you have a lesser version than that, please get the latest and try again, there was a bug earlier that could cause the symptom you see, which may be fixed in the latest version.

Dave;
Using r20 I was able to export a few cdg to QT but then I started getting the following : Error Exporting QT Movie "movie name.mov": -194. I selected the song in the library window then >file/Export/Quicktime. I checked the Task window and there are two added lines when export doesn't work saying "writting error corrected CDG to cashe" and "Unpacking Audio Format. mp3. If I export the same CDG the second time I have no problem

oops more work to do

Post by dave »

okay well, until i fix that, here's what to do;

1) start to play the song you want to export
2) watch the task window and wait 'till the spool tasks are finished (the ones about unpacking and decompressing)
3) stop the song (cmd-period or escape)
4) export QT.

that should make the export successful

i'll fix the bug hopefully by the next version

can't reproduce your bug

Post by dave »

I have tried and tried but I can no longer reproduce your bug. Can you please email me (via regular email) the song files in question? please zip them. preserving the original file names is important too.

1) make a new playlist with just that one song in it
2) select the playlist
3) file->export->original playlist files
4) navigate to desktop, make new folder, and save
5) in the finder, on the desktop, open that new folder.
6) is it one file that is zipped? if so, skip to step 8
7) select both files, context click, pick "Create Archive", this will zip the song
8) drag that zip file to a new email message to me. dave at kjams dot net
